Winter is tightening its grip across Southwest Washington this week as a colder upper-level trough drops south from Canada, bringing noticeably cooler temperatures, frequent showers, and lowering snow levels. While the pattern is not expected to produce a widespread major lowland snowstorm, conditions will be favorable for occasional flakes, especially at the higher elevations and possibly even briefly at valley floors during heavier showers.
