After three years of delay, Vallejo’s Police Oversight and Accountability Commission is finally functioning, electing a chair and vice-chair, establishing a regular meeting schedule and working to make it easier to file a complaint about the police. The commission had its first two formal meetings Jan. 12 and Feb. 2, unanimously electing John Lewis as chair and Renee Sykes as vice-chair. The commissioners also selected the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for their regular meetings at City Hall in the council chambers.
