They did it again! Mongolia's Olympic uniforms are the talk of the town

Mongolia will compete in the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics with a small but mighty team, that has already caught the attention of the fans and fashion experts with its striking uniforms.Goyol Cashmere, a design company based in Ulaanbaatar, said the uniforms are inspired by the 13th and 15th Mongol Empire blending history with performance.“Rather than merely blending traditional garments with modern design, this collection aims to reintroduce the ancient Mongolian clothing culture — an inseparable part of our great history and cultural heritage — to the contemporary world and share it on a global stage,” the company said on a post on Instagram.“The designs preserve essential traditional elements such as a functional skirt slit that allows freedom of movement, a raised collar that protects against wind and cold, and a fully closed overlapping front symbolizing warmth and unity.”According to Olympics.com, “the dark blue palette may also reference The Eternal Blue Sky, the universe’s creator in the ancient shamanistic belief system of Mongolic nomadic peoples.”The uniforms worn by the Mongolian delegation during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics caused a worldwide sensation.Mongolia will be represented by three athletes in Milan Cortina: cross-country skiers Achbadrakh Batmunkh and Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar, and Alpine skier Ariunbat Altanzul.
