UNIVERSITY PARK — Agricultural robotics, commercial exhibits and live field demonstrations will be featured at Penn State’s Ag Progress Days, set for Aug. 11-13 at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs. New this year is the FIRA Robotics Village, an exhibit hosted by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and organized by the Robotics Factory of Pittsburgh and GOFAR, a global agricultural robotics accelerator. The exhibit will feature startup companies developing agricultural robotics for livestock and crop production, forestry and horticulture. The Robotics Village will be among more than 400 commercial exhibits for commercial crop producers, hobby farmers and others interested in agriculture and the outdoors. Farm and forestry equipment will be displayed, with manufacturers and dealers available to answer questions. Seed and genetics companies also will have agronomists available to discuss seed performance. Daily field demonstrations will feature hay mowing, tedding and raking; hay and straw baling; cover crops and planting green; bale handling; and wheat combining.
