Mobile Pixels Fold laptop extender screen review

The measure of a good product is (I suppose) one that you eventually wear out due to excessive use. If there’s any truth in that statement, it’s probably why my old Mobile Pixels screen eventually gave up the ghost after repeated “let me slam that into a tray for you sir” experiences at airport security and all the heavy use it got at tech shows for about three years. Time to move up to the new <a href="https://www.mobilepixels.us/products/fold">Mobile Pixels Fold</a> then from (you guessed it) Mobile Pixels and the screen build feels stronger and more heavily engineered. Priced at $152.99 US, or approximately £111 GBP at the time of writing on a better-than-half-price discount, this portable screen for laptop (or indeed smartphone) with dual speakers has a magnetic case (that works as a kickstand and and as a cover while on the go) and is sold in two options: 16′′ 2.5K (the one I went for) and 15.6′′ 1080P. Compatible with macOS, Windows, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox and other platforms, the device has a high-definition IPS screen that It supports plug-and-play with DP-enabled USB-C devices, meaning no driver installation is required. One day, hotel rooms will be built with desks that hold a second screen about a foot above the desk, but that age hasn’t happened yet... so I’m still using ice buckets and cardboard boxes.
