John Joseph Mike

John Joseph Mike of Bainbridge Island, WA died peacefully on April 30, 2026 of Parkinson’s Disease. John was born on Nov. 1, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MN to Joseph and Violet (Laine) Mike. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1964 and studied metallurgical engineering at the University of Minnesota. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan (Mitchell) Mike, also a 1964 Central graduate; his son Jeff (Ranya); daughter Sara (Ryan); three cherished grandchildren; his sisters Carol Boyd and Cathy (Steve) Paquay and many beloved nieces and nephews. John’s career took him around the country and the world. He and his family lived in Minnesota, New Jersey, and Arizona before settling in the Seattle area in 1990. John loved golf and was a fan of all Seattle sports teams. He was famous for his love of ice cream A private service will be held in Duluth, MN at a later date.
