In taping a recent Arkansas Week episode, veteran journalist host Steve Barnes, in introducing me, said that I was entitled to the long view on the subject of Medicaid because I was the state's Medicaid director the better part of two decades. That prompted me to think about how long that view has been at a time when the program is threatened by political actions from last year's congressional budget bill supported by the entire Arkansas congressional delegation, including Sen. Tom Cotton and Rep. French Hill.
