331 Hemi-Powered 1928 Ford Highboy 5-Window Coupe 4-Speed

331 Hemi-Powered 1928 Ford Highboy 5-Window Coupe 4-Speed

This 1928 Ford Model A coupe was the subject of a custom hot-rod build circa 2014 that involved chopping the five-window body and mounting it on '32 Ford-style frame rails. Power is provided by a 331ci Chrysler Hemi V8 that is topped with a Weiand WC3d intake manifold and triple Stromberg carburetors and linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a narrowed 9" rear end. The interior is trimmed in black vinyl and features a bench seat, a Hurst shifter, and Stewart-Warner gauges. The chassis features a windowed front drop axle with split wishbones and lever-arm shocks along with a rear ladder bar setup, front and rear transverse leaf springs, and drum brakes with Buick-style front drums. Additional details include a '32 Ford-style grille, '50 Pontiac taillights, a rear-hinged trunk lid, a trunk-mounted fuel tank, lake-style headers, and steel wheels with big-and-little whitewall tires. This five-window coupe was purchased by the seller in 2016 and is now offered with a Massachusetts title in the seller's name.
